"My disability exists, not because I use a wheelchair but because the broader environment isn’t accessible." -Stella Young (Journalist, activist)- Ms. Youngs sentiment is mirrored by hundreds of thousands of individuals in the US today. People who have limited access to their communities, not by choice but because of the restrictive nature of these communities themselves. At INALLIANCE we work to minimize these restrictions and act as a bridge between hundreds of families in Northern California and their communities.
Northern California INALLIANCE has been a leader in assisting people with disabilities and their families to live independent lives since 1952. That is 70 years of service. 70 years of program participants working and earning a paycheck, volunteering with the causes that they care about, living independently and being part of their community to the extent that they wish to be. We believe as Greta Thunberg, climate activist, does that "given the right circumstances, a disability becomes a superpower."
