Michigan Trail Keepers

Michigan Trail Keepers is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The mission of the organization is to design, develop, build, maintain, and improve sustainable trail systems throughout Michigan, and to provide education and stewardship activities that support environmental conservation and responsible outdoor recreation.

Michigan Trail Keepers is a community-driven organization focused on building, maintaining, and caring for sustainable trail systems across Michigan. We work to create high-quality trails that support outdoor recreation while respecting and protecting the natural environment.

Our efforts include designing and maintaining multi-use and mountain bike trails, organizing volunteer trail days, and working with local communities and land managers to keep trails safe, accessible, and enjoyable for all users. We believe well-built trails strengthen communities, encourage healthy outdoor activity, and connect people with Michigan’s natural spaces.

Michigan Trail Keepers also promotes responsible trail use through education and hands-on stewardship. By engaging volunteers and outdoor enthusiasts, we help ensure trails remain sustainable and enjoyable for future generations.
