Farm & Kitchen Foundation

FARM & KITCHEN FOUNDATION inspires teens in high-risk communities to achieve success despite the challenging environments they live in. The foundation works in conjunction with the LAPD & NYC Police Activities Leagues to organize farm & market visits, cooking classes, service trainings and team-building activities for fifteen participants ages fourteen to twenty. Over the course of a year, the program provides the teens with an opportunity to be in positive environments and experience healthy lifestyles and team spirit. Through consistent involvement, the kids begin to feel a sense of belonging in a functional setting. Nature and food serve as the vehicles to open their souls and their minds, and build their desire to achieve in the surroundings that they are exposed to. New perspectives encourage participants to pursue their passions and cease to feel restricted by limited upbringings.
