Our rescue was founded out of love for the rescue president's first dog, Queen Night Storm. She was a puppy mill dog that experienced numerous medical issues throughout her life, including diabetes and subsequent blindness, degenerative myelopathy, which landed her in a wheelchair and finally bladder cancer. Storm was a very special dog and it is our mission to help those who need us most, in her honor.
In the 1st quarter of 2019, we have already taken in over 160 dogs and cats. 75% of those animals have already been adopted, making room for us to continue to help others. We do not discriminate on breed. Our animals come to us from area shelters, community surrenders and our trap, neuter and return program. We are dedicated to reducing the stray cat population in Lorain and rehabilitate as many cats and kittens as we can to place them in forever homes. Our rescue often takes in medical cases including heartworm disease, demodex mange, pregnant animals and emergency situations.
We are always looking for volunteers to help us grow our programs. We are a 100% volunteer based organization so fundraising and donations are just as critical to our success as our volunteers.
