    Acerca de

The Community Prevention Coalition of Pima County (CPC) is a collaborative, community‑driven initiative focused on preventing youth alcohol and other drug use by strengthening cultural competence, family connectedness, and local prevention capacity. The coalition partners with schools, health agencies, youth groups, tribal communities, and diverse prevention organizations to expand youth prevention education, host community forums, and support evidence‑based programs across the county.

CPC’s subcommittees and partner initiatives include:

    • Communities of Concern, which brings together schools and prevention organizations to educate parents and youth on the harms of underage drinking and substance misuse while promoting family engagement strategies such as the Healthy Families Healthy Youth program.
    • Diverse Voices in Prevention (DVIP), which advises the coalition on culturally competent prevention practices and hosts the annual Cultural Humility Roundtable to help providers develop responsive, culturally grounded approaches to youth wellness.
    • Partnerships with agencies such as the University of Arizona, Southwest Institute for Research on Women, Marana Prevention Alliance, MADD, local school districts, tribal nations, and multiple behavioral health and prevention organizations, all working collectively to build a supportive prevention culture in Pima County.
