Austin NOW

The National Organization for Women is the largest organization of feminist grassroots activists in the United States. We turn action into power and fight to bring women into full equality in our society. 

In 2021, we formed our Austin NOW chapter with the goal of creating a community of progressive activists working to make disruptive change and bring solutions to the most challenging issues facing us today. From affordable housing to rampant voter suppression bills being introduced at the state legislature, our community of Texans are fighting back. 

Why NOW?

1. NOW provides a national communications network for action-oriented feminists.
2. NOW provides chapter and state organizations with legislative updates and information for lobbying.
3. NOW provides experience and know-how from active feminists who are leaders in the women’s movement.

5. NOW is generally recognized in the national mass media as the leading feminist civil rights organization in this country. 
6. NOW provides the power of numbers geographically spread throughout the nation.

Members of NOW are encouraged to work on issues specific to their concerns. As a chapter we want to support as many feminist issues as possible.
