Awbury Arboretum Association
"The mission of Awbury Arboretum Association is to preserve and interpret Awbury's historic house and landscape thereby connecting an urban community to nature and history."
Awbury carries out this mission through: 1) Teaching pre-K – 8th grade children, many of whom come from schools and homes in low-income neighborhoods, about nature and environmental issues; 2) Training 15 at risk youth apprentices in landscaping, horticulture for jobs in the green industry; 4) Modeling and encouraging conservation and sustainability practices through our community gardening program, and our associations with other conservation and revitalization efforts, and; 5) Preserving, renewing and interpreting our historic 55 acre landscape.
