Therapy Missions, Inc.

Therapy Missions is a secular, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults who are living with disabilities by sending teams of volunteer professional rehabilitation therapists to those parts of the world where these resources are scarce, or do not exist at all.

Our mission is predicated on a classic three-legged stool paradigm: Teach… Treat… Train

Our work is designed to use that paradigm to Teach the caregivers of people with disabilities to use the most recent advancements in the rehab therapies to help that caregiver Treat the children and adults with disabilities that they provide care for, so that they can then Train other local caregivers (and sometimes family members with disabled children at home) to use those same skills in their work. Our program sites exist in impoverished areas of the world, always in partnership with local agencies, and always by invitation only.

The teaching provided by our team of professional therapists has an impact on both the organization and the caregivers, by expanding their knowledge, skills, and abilities to provide the highest quality care possible.

Our teams of occupational, physical and speech therapy volunteers offer one week of their time to educate and empower those individuals who are working and caring for children and adults with disabilities. Our volunteers are what make our organization thrive, and through their dedicated commitment to teaching and training, they have changed the lives of caregivers, resulting not only in improved care and quality of life for those with disabilities, but also by empowering the caregivers through education, they have developed a career path as a paraprofessional rehab therapist.
