NYC Mesh's mission is to create an open, resilient, and net-neutral community-owned and managed internet network that is accessible and affordable to all New Yorkers for both daily internet use and emergency use during power outages or internet disruptions.

NYC Mesh is a volunteer-based charitable organization with the goal of creating an open, resilient, and net-neutral community-owned and managed network that is accessible and affordable to all New Yorkers. We are by far the largest and most robust community internet network in the United States - serving countless New York City residents regardless of their ability to pay. NYC Mesh is a resilient, stand-alone communication system serving not only for daily use, but also during emergencies like Hurricane Sandy, continuing to function when other networks fail.
