Heeding God's Call the End Gun Violence

Heeding God’s Call the End Gun Violence is a faith-based movement working to prevent gun violence. We unite people of faith in the sacred responsibility to protect our brothers and sisters. We provide support and resources for faith communities to form multi-racial, ecumenical, and interfaith partnerships to work together to prevent gun violence by deterring the purchase of illegal handguns and their trafficking on the streets. We serve as a connection point for congregations and partnerships to unite with and learn from each other as a way to support gun violence prevention organizations and other efforts already in place.

We have active programs that include locally based Memorial to the Lost tee-shirt displays honoring community members murdered by gun violence, bringing faith communities together to hold community educational and advocacy Gun Violence Awareness Days, and promoting legislative change by conducting letter-writing campaigns to state and federal legislators, distributing non-partisan voter guides and direct in-person lobbying.

We have active supporters who engage with us across Pennsylvania, and we are seeking to develop engagement more broadly in PA and on a national level.
