Acerca de

The Stamford Young Artists Philharmonic (SYAP) transforms the lives of young people through classical music and classical music education by promoting self-discipline, team work, and character.

SYAP strives to help each individual member of the orchestra to reach their highest potential in classical music and beyond and to bring professional-caliber classical music performance to Connecticut.

Today, over 150 talented young musicians (aged elementary to high school) from the tri-state area comprise the three orchestras of the SYAP family. Under the batons of conductors Christian Capocaccia, Gregory Robbins, and Barbara DiFranco, students prepare and perform virtuosic works from the full symphonic literature, culminating in a final performance at the Palace Theatre.

Performing these masterworks requires students to develop and hone their skills of preparation, teamwork, and artistry. In order to accomplish this, the SYAP is proud to provide an environment where rigorous individualized training is combined with a positive atmosphere, fun social events, and the joy that only music can bring. Students sit shoulder to shoulder with professionals in regular coaching sessions, and learn techniques of collaboration, self improvement, and creativity which will serve them well in their future professional and educational endeavors.
