INSPIRING COMMUNITIES TO BRING DIGNITY AND HOPE TO YOUTH IN FOSTER CARE. Many youth in foster care will be moved from home to home multiple times, carrying their life’s treasures in a trash bag. At Comfort Cases, we believe that every child deserves to feel a sense of dignity. Every child deserves to pack their belongings in a special bag that they can call their own. It is our mission as a charity to provide a proper bag, filled with comfort and essential items, to these brave youth in foster care on their journey to find their forever home. To date we have distributed over 40,000 Comfort Cases in 39 states, Puerto Rico and Washington, DC.

In 2013 Comfort Cases was founded by Rob and Reece Scheer. Rob, a former child of the foster care system, and Reece adopted four children, all who came to them with what little belongings they had in black trash bags. Rob remembered his trash bag, and the sight of their children carrying trash bags was heartbreaking. They couldn't believe that after all these years, our most vulnerable children are still being treated like they are worthless.

When their children got older, as a family they talked about how they could help other kids in the foster care system, and the Comfort Case was born.

Our goal is simple - eliminate the need for children in foster care to hold their belongings in a trash bag.

To date, we have distributed over 40,000 Comfort Cases in 39 states, Puerto Rico and Washington, DC.
