The New York Art Residency and Studios (NARS) Foundation was founded in 2006 and gained its non-profit status in 2010. NARS provides professional development opportunities through its International Artist Residency Program, Short-Term Workspace Program, and affordable long-term studio spaces. The NARS Gallery exhibition program strives to present the most interesting works being produced in the greater New York City area along with works by international and national artists providing a platform for various discourses and fostering cross-pollination among artists of disparate backgrounds. Through Educational Ppogramming, NARS opens its space to the community for free family exhibition tours and children’s workshops as well as creating partnerships with underserved local schools.
