Woof Dog Rescue is a non-profit organization devoted to transforming the lives of forgotten dogs and finding them caring homes. We give healthy, adoptable dogs from the city shelter system a second chance. WOOF is comprised of a group of concerned animal lovers with a common purpose— to make a difference …one dog at a time.

Woof was founded in the summer of 2003 by an energetic, dedicated group of New York City professionals who became acquainted through previous work with other animal rescue organizations. The group decided to branch off to found its own dog rescue group, and Woof was born! The “Woof Pack” will aim to develop a cohesive community in New York City, a strong network of animal lovers who are excited to make a real difference for dogs in the shelter system and who get to know each other and the dogs we save through events centered around socializing, encouraging adoptions, tabling, and fundraising. Woof is where to go to share your compassion, commitment and concern for homeless animals with like-minded animal devotees.
