Channel 3 Kids Camp

To provide year-round opportunities to children, families, and communities through recreational and educational programs that promote friendship, learning, and growth.

Established in 1910, the Channel 3 Kids Camp is the only overnight camp in Connecticut that provides an outstanding summer camp experiences to children whose families would not otherwise be able to send them to camp. Our mission is to provide year round opportunities to children, families, and communities to participate in year round recreational and educational programs that promote friendship, learning, and growth.

Located on 150 acres in scenic Andover and Coventry, Connecticut, as of this summer Channel 3 Kids Camp will be an inclusive camp for kids of all abilities. We are opening Ashley’s Place, a fully accessible dorm-style cabin with 24 hour nursing support. If children with special needs can go to school alongside typically developing children, we believe they should be able to go to camp with their friends too!

While perhaps best known for summer overnight and day camp, year round programs include the Camp Ventures after school science/environmental enrichment program in local schools, Camp Ventures-Home School for home school families, Nature’s Classroom, a residential environmental exploration program for school groups, and school vacation day camp.

Special summer camp weeks include Operation Purple, a camp week for children from active duty/deployed military families; Sibling Connections, a week to reunite siblings separated in the foster care system , and CampAbility, a week where children who are blind or deaf-blind show us that it’s all about what you CAN do!

WFSB, Channel 3 has been an outstanding media partner for over 37 years, providing invaluable exposure, but they do not pay our expenses. We are a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) corporation. Through the remarkable generosity of the public, corporations, and foundations, the camp has grown from serving 20 campers in 1910 to serving more than 3,000 children every year.
