Since 1954, the Leisure Services program has been the primary source of recreation and leisure programming in Central Iowa for people with dissabilities. Services are based firmly on the philosophy that constructive use of leisure time promotes healthy human development. Experiences are strengthened by the use of community resources, and attempts to promote integrated activities whenever possible. Each year, hundreds of children and adutls with disabilities participate in sports and fitnes, social, cultural, and leisure education activities.
