Humboldt State University invites students and the community to participate in the 2007 Leadership Conference: Ignite: Lighting the Passion Within, on October 4-7. In addition to the conference, the event is a commemorative celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Graduation Pledge of Social and Environmental Responsibility with special keynote speakers, an anniversary reception, recognition awards, hands-on service-learning projects, and musical entertainment.
The Pledge, started at HSU in 1987, is a personal commitment by students and graduates to be socially and environmentally responsible in their professional lives. The Graduation Pledge, started at Humboldt State University in 1987, has since been embraced at over 100 colleges and universities internationally under the stewardship of the Graduation Pledge Alliance (GPA).
