GENSenegal

GEN Senegal is the Senegalese national branch of the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) a United Nations ECOSOC NGO. We facilitate education and development activities in 45 ecovillages in 10 of Senegal's 14 regions. Our programs include: 1) identification and management/ support of NGO development projects and research activities that engage and serve the ecovillages directly . 2). A center of higher education, ecovillage design education and ecovillage training - the EcoYoff Living & Learning Center (L&L), which integrates:

• A study abroad program in sustainable development that enrolls both American and Senegalese students in partnership with village project learning and project teams. This program operates in collaboration with Living Routes Study Abroad in Ecovillages, the University of Massachusetts Amherst and other partners.
• courses in Ecovillage Design Education (EDE), in partnership with Gaia Education
• training for ecovillagers in sustainable and community technologies

GEN Senegal works in partnership with the NGO CRESP Senegal which has its own group, under the name CRESP.
