CVE Company Limited is dedicated to supporting environmental sustainability, community development, and cultural heritage preservation in Zanzibar. We identified a crucial need to engage in these sectors to create mutual benefits for the people of Zanzibar, the government, and international visitors.
The primary purpose of these projects is to support community members by helping them develop valuable skills, thereby increasing employment opportunities for the youth.
This project in Dimani Village is a multifaceted initiative designed to empower the community through environmental sustainability and cultural preservation. By establishing a bee farming program, volunteers provide residents with both the physical tools such as protective gear and hive materials—and the technical training needed to manage hives effectively. This not only bolsters the local economy but also includes physical infrastructure improvements, like building shelters and safe access trails, to ensure the project’s long-term viability.
Parallel to environmental efforts, the project focuses on community development through education and the celebration of local heritage. Volunteers support local schools by providing both "soft" skills, like teaching ICT and English, and "hard" labor, such as repairing furniture and painting classrooms. These efforts are complemented by a deep cultural exchange, where volunteers engage in traditional crafts like weaving and knitting while learning Kiswahili and participating in local ceremonies, ensuring that development goes hand-in-hand with honoring Dimani’s unique identity.
