INTERSECTIONAL X ACTS
Misión
Intersectional Acts envisions a world with no violence, but until then, we are working to create a world where the systems designed to stop, protect, address, and prevent violence are effective and non-traumatizing, and folks who experience violence can access the culturally-responsive support they deserve and need.
Our mission is to build margin-centered communities and operationalize trauma-informed, culturally-responsive support systems for people impacted by harassment, discrimination, and violence.
Acerca de
Intersectional Acts emerged in 2023 from a deep concern for individuals facing intersecting forms of harassment and discrimination (H&D) and enduring additional institutional betrayal when seeking support.
We seek to address the secondary trauma resulting from inadequate support and the negative domino effect on oppressed people's education and career opportunities by:
- Increasing support for diverse survivors of violence
- Addressing the negative impacts of violence and institutional betrayal on diverse survivors
- Increasing knowledge on best practices for serving diverse survivors of violence at organizations where they learn and work
- Implementing best practices for serving diverse survivors of violence at organizations where they learn and work
- Improving organizational experiences for people who have experienced harassment and discrimination
- Increasing social upward mobility for diverse people
We are a new volunteer-run queer and disability-led organization founded in 2023. We are looking for volunteers who to help with marketing, communications, website development, community engagement, and fundraising support. We are also always looking for practitioners within the anti-violence field.
