We connect locally grown, healthy food to people who need it most.
Real Food CT connects locally grown, healthy food to people who need it most by strengthening farm partnerships, reducing on-farm food waste, and expanding regional food access across Connecticut.
What began as a grassroots gleaning and farm surplus effort has grown into a regional organization partnering with dozens of farms and food access organizations across multiple counties. In 2025, Real Food CT delivered a record 158,000 pounds of fresh, locally grown produce to 35 food pantries and food banks, working with 25 regional farm partners.
That year also marked a period of organizational maturation, including the formalization of key operational leadership roles and the launch of a long-term strategic planning initiative. As we look ahead, Real Food CT is entering a deliberate growth phase focused on building durable aggregation and farm infrastructure, strengthening regional coordination, and developing sustainable revenue pathways to support both farmers and communities in need.
