Center for English & Integration Services

The Center for English and Integration Services (CEIS) is a nonprofit in Knoxville, TN, that empowers immigrants, refugees, and international adults through accessible English classes for integration. Founded in 2016 as a grassroots volunteer initiative, CEIS now serves over 400 adult learners and 150 children each year, representing more than 50 countries.

Our mission is to equip students with the language and confidence they need to build self-sufficiency and thrive in their new communities. We offer six levels of English instruction, as well as: Specials skills classes (Pronunciation & Writing), On-site childcare, Transportation support, U.S. citizenship preparation, Driving classes, and Digital literacy training.

Our programs are built on connection, cultural understanding, and the belief that everyone deserves a chance to succeed. Volunteers are at the heart of our work-teaching, mentoring, caring for children, and supporting student access.
