WE ARE CURRENTLY HIRING ***

Health Leads seeks 22 passionate and skilled undergraduate students to run its program in Providence. Summer hires work at the Health Leads Desk in the Hasbro Children’s Hospital to assist low-income families in accessing a wide variety of social resources like adult education, utilities assistance, employment, affordable housing, and food. They work one- on- one with families referred by physicians at the Hasbro Children’s Hospital to help alleviate social needs influencing health. All Health Leads participants must possess great commitment, tenacity, and humility to work with families.

Summer fellows (the full time position) should expect a 25 hr/wk commitment, while summer volunteers (the part time position) can expect 7 hr/wk. These positions are open to all undergraduates willing to work full or part time in the Providence area. Both positions are unpaid and participants must arrange their own housing. Fellows and volunteers will be expected to work with Health Leads from June 1-mid August. Some fellows might be offered the chance to extend their commitment for 3 weeks in exchange for some monetary compensation.

These sessions will be in The Underground, which is a space on the basement floor of the Faunce building at Brown. Faunce is located on the corner of Brown and Waterman streets.

Health Leads Providence works at the Hasbro Children's Hospital, connecting about 1,500 families/year to the basic resources they need to be healthy.
