Provide financial assistance, resource navigation, and care coordination that enable families of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to actively lead and participate in their child’s care, reducing barriers to accessing and sustaining diagnostic and therapeutic services.

ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Family-Led Autism Collective (FLAC) is redefining autism care by empowering families to actively lead and participate in their child’s therapy. While evidence-based interventions, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy and related supports, are widely available, access alone does not guarantee outcomes. Too often, families are unable to engage consistently due to financial strain, time constraints, and a lack of guidance, limiting the effectiveness of even the highest quality care.

FLAC ensures that children and families receive the full continuum of support needed to achieve meaningful, lasting outcomes. Through its Autism Care Access Program, FLAC provides direct financial support to families, enabling them to afford and sustain consistent participation in therapy. Funds are used to offset the real barriers that prevent care, including lost income from reduced work hours, out-of-pocket therapy costs, transportation, specialized childcare, and essential household expenses. By removing these barriers, FLAC allows families to prioritize early and consistent intervention during critical developmental periods without sacrificing financial stability.

Beyond financial support, FLAC delivers individualized, one-on-one coaching that equips families to navigate complex care systems and make informed decisions about their child’s treatment. FLAC becomes an integrated part of each family’s support system, ensuring caregivers are not navigating care alone. Through this guidance, caregivers are empowered to actively engage in therapy, apply strategies in real time, and reinforce learning within daily routines, extending the impact of clinical services far beyond scheduled sessions.
