Norman C. Francis Teacher Residency

At the Norman C. Francis Teacher Residency, our mission is to develop exceptional educators who want to make this work their career. We combine the proven methods of Xavier University of Louisiana’s Master’s Degree program with mentorship and on-the-job coaching to ensure our Residents are equipped to support students’ success in school and in life. Residents are selected through an intensive application process and matched to an elementary, middle, or high school based on their desires and schools’ needs. Residents pursue a Master’s degree while receiving on-the-job development from a mentor teacher at their school.
