Habitat for Humanity of the Lowcountry partners with families in need of an affordable home of their own, fostering stability, self-reliance, and a strong sense of community. Since 1990, HFH Lowcountry has put 192 families (soon to be 195!) in to homes in Beaufort and Jasper counties and has less than a 2% foreclosure rate. Affordable housing changes lives and the community for the better.
Habitat for Humanity of the Lowcountry is part of a global nonprofit housing organization that operates across all 50 states in the U.S. and in approximately 70 countries. Habitat’s vision is of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
The Lowcountry affiliate has served Beaufort and Jasper counties since 1990, building strength, stability, and self-reliance for each family stabilized through affordable housing. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes and pay affordable mortgages. Homeownership breaks cycles of poverty, low education, and income levels, and improves community-wide outcomes. Beaufort and Jasper counties are proudly home to over 192 (soon to be 195!) Habitat homes.
