Established in 1995 and located in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia, the Advanced Studies in Culture Foundation (ASCF) supports, finances, conducts, and communicates cutting-edge research to further the educational mission of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture at the University of Virginia. We live in a time of rupture that has generated problems at every level of our global order and for which dominant paradigms to address remain inadequate. In keeping with its purpose and 25-year history, the ASCF continues to support and promote research that helps explore contemporary cultural change and its individual and social consequences, while also coordinating the Colloquies and Labs of the Institute.
