DANIELS CARE VAN

Daniel’s Care Van’s founder, Jeri Jones, lost her only child, 3-year-old Daniel, to leukemia in 2012. Throughout the many months of Daniel's treatment at Children's Hospital, Jeri noticed other patients' families using the public bus to get to and from treatment. She knew the hardships of having a child with cancer first-hand, and she realized how much more challenging that experience would be without reliable transportation. Daniel, even at such a young age, was a generous soul who always wanted to make the people around him smile. The need Jeri recognized in the childhood cancer community, combined with Daniel's spirit of generosity, sparked the creation of Daniel’s Care Van. Now, because of this organization, several children whose families do not have reliable transportation are able to get to their life-saving out-patient appointments in a safe and reliable way. Daniel's Care Van is funded entirely through donations.
