J Street Education Fund

J Street is the political arm of the pro-Israel, pro-peace movement. J Street's mission is to change the dynamics of American politics when it comes to Israel and the Middle East and to create the political space for American policy to focus on ending conflicts there through diplomacy and achieving security for Israel and the United States through peace. J Street is a 501(c)(4) non-profit corporation, which uses online organizing, advocacy, and lobbying on Capitol Hill to achieve these goals.

J Street Education Fund, Inc. is a legally independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization that promotes pro-peace Israel education and activism on campus and beyond as well as an open, dynamic conversation about Israel in the American and Jewish Community.

The campus program, a project of the J Street Education Fund, Inc. formerly known as the Union of Progressive Zionists (UPZ), is a national network of student activists who advocate and educate for peace and social justice in Israel and Palestine. The campus program provides guidance, education and resources to students who seek to impart a progressive voice into the campus debate on Israel.

As a network of student activists organizing on campuses across North America, the campus program seeks to present Jews and non-Jews on campus with an alternative to extremist voices from both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian divide. Those voices pushing rigid "pro-Israel" and "pro-Palestinian" positions have come to dominate the discourse on many campuses across North America, obscuring the issues and alienating significant numbers of students. We are committed to creating an alternate approach on campus that embraces open dialogue and constructive activism, and that warrants critical analysis of policies - be they Israeli, Palestinian, American or other.

We develop student leaders, help them build sustainable campus groups, create educational programs to implement on campus, develop national and local campaigns and actions, run trainings for students at local, regional and national events, provide off campus opportunities in D.C., Israel and the West Bank and provide a space for those within our community who are unable to find an ideological home elsewhere.
