Resonance

Resonance is a nonprofit organization building civic infrastructure to help communities understand and respond to the human impacts of AI. As AI reshapes work, education, creativity, relationships, care, and civic life, many people are experiencing these changes faster than they have spaces to process them. Public conversation about AI is often polarized, abstract, or dominated by technical and policy experts. Resonance exists to create a different kind of civic space: one where people across sectors and lived experiences can make sense of technological change together, build trust across difference, and develop greater agency in shaping how AI affects their lives and communities.

Our core model is the Resonance Salon: a structured, place-based gathering hosted in living rooms, libraries, and community spaces. Salons bring together people across sectors, including educators, artists, technologists, faith leaders, healthcare workers, business owners, and civic leaders, for facilitated dialogue about how AI is reshaping their lives, work, relationships, and communities. Founded in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2026, Resonance is now expanding nationally with support from Omidyar Network, the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, and the Workday Foundation.
