The Miss Delaware Scholarship Organization advances this mission by providing young women with scholarship support, leadership development, and structured community engagement opportunities that prepare them to excel academically, professionally, and civically.

Founded in 1933, the Miss Delaware Scholarship Organization (MDSO) is Delaware’s official state program within the Miss America Opportunity, the nation’s largest provider of scholarships to women. For more than ninety years, MDSO has supported young women in pursuing higher education, developing leadership skills, and serving their communities through a comprehensive, values-driven program that emphasizes scholarship, service, and civic engagement.

MDSO prepares participants not only to succeed academically but to lead with confidence and purpose across professional, creative, and public service fields.
