On The Rise creates a safe and supportive community that fosters self-determination and wellbeing for women, transgender, and nonbinary people on their journey through and beyond homelessness.

Our mission at On the Rise is to Build Long-term relationships that foster wellbeing for people moving through and beyond homelessness. We take a holistic, relationship-based approach grounded in Relational-Cultural Theory.

Rather than focusing solely on problems or deficits, we center each person’s strengths, skills and inherent worth. By building authentic, caring connections, we work collaboratively with participants to address challenges and achieve the goals they define for themselves.

Each year, 450+ individuals have contact with On The Rise, and 150 to 200 work with us in-depth for an extended period. Since our programming began in 1996, On The Rise has helped more than 750 women and gender-diverse individuals find safety and discover new possibilities. What we do is different, and it works. We are innovative, we are effective, and we are accountable.
