The Staten Island Green Charter School for Environmental Discovery

The Staten Island Green Charter School For Environmental discovery is a K-5

charter school to be located in the northern shore of Staten Island, servicing children

from under privleged backgrounds. Our school is a college prepearatory STEM school

focusing on the environment, technology, community environmental programs, and

the improvement of natural resource development to protect our environment from

the effects of climate change, pollution, world hunger, diseases, and scientific

research develiopemnt.

At our school, students are worked with in small group settings, using Response to

Intervention programs designed to meet the learning needs of every child from

struggling to advanced learners. We have 2 teachers and asssociate teachers in

every class, as well as college interns from the College of Staten Island who work

with our teachers in developing our hands on curriculum, and experiential learning

programs aligned to Common Core and New York state standards.

We are looking for directors for our Friends of the Staten Island Green Charter

School, INC. who will fundraise for the school.
