SUEWONG MCFADDEN ACADEMY

Suewong McFadden Academy (SMA) is a nonprofit Educational Enrichment Learning Academy based in Avondale, Arizona. Founded in 2024, SMA serves K-8 students through small dual-grade combo classes that integrate core academics with enrichment programs in STEAM, culinary arts, music, life skills, and vocational exploration. Our mission is to reimagine education for underserved communities by providing personalized, hands-on learning that supports academic, emotional, and creative growth.

In our first year, SMA served 14 students, maintained an 86% family retention rate, and saw 55-77% student academic growth across core subjects. We’ve partnered with KaiPod Catalyst, the Arizona Department of Education, and other organizations to support our impact. We also host monthly family workshops, literacy pop-ups, and community events to extend learning beyond the classroom.
