Ohio Citizen Action-Cincinnati

Ohio Citizen Action has worked to foster environmental protection and consumer activism for over 40 years. With 80,000 members statewide, Ohio Citizen Action is the state's largest environmental organization. Our campaigns involve organizing direct community pressure on Ohio's largest polluters, and are the best way to achieve significant, long-term changes in facility operations. We combine original, news-making research, an extraordinary ability to stay in touch with members door-to-door and on the phone, and community "Good Neighbor" Campaigns. These campaigns offer practical ways for members to make the most of whatever time they can spare: signing petitions, writing letters, making phone calls, talking to neighbors, or speaking out at community meetings. That's how Citizen Action gets results!

Ohio Citizen Action helped win a victory on Mountaintop Removal by getting a policy change that will allow few, if any, new mountaintop removal permits to be approved. Our current campaign is to protect public health and the environment by urging the US EPA to investigate the method of toxic waste disposal using injection wells to ensure it does not threaten our land, air, and water quality.
