Illinois Manufacturing Foundation

Illinois Manufacturing Foundation offers training and placement programs to prepare individuals for two occupations:

1. Precision Machinist through a 480 clock-hour training program and placement program titled "Automatic Screw Machine/CNC Machine Tool Operator". Individuals will learn shop math, blueprint reading, precision measurement and how to correctly and accurately produce precision piece parts using manual, automatic and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools.

2. Computer Support Specialist through a 396 clock-hour training and placement program titled "Computer Support Specialist" Individuals will learn to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve computer hardware, software and network problems. Successful completers will take and pass the CompTIA A+ certification examinations.

Illinois Manufacturing Foundation also sponsors Team 2136 in the First Robotics Competition, which is composed of 14-18 year-old high school students that designs, prototypes and builds a robot between January and March of each year for a competition that takes place in early April.
