The Aisling Foundation

Acerca de

Caroline Casey established the Aisling Foundation in 2000 as part of a unique initiative to promote and enhance a truly positive image of disability. Caroline is visually impaired to the extent that she is registered as legally blind. For four months Caroline trekked across southern India on elephant back and became one of the only western female Indian trained mahouts. Her trek was chronicled in the National Geographic documentary "Elephant Vision". Further to a request by Irish business, The Aisling Foundation has designed The Ability Programme. It will provide members with a one-stop-shop of expertise in disability management through events, publications, lectures and a website. The Ability Programme is designed for organisations of all sizes, with varying levels of expertise providing tailor made services for different industries.

In addition, the foundation is working to establish India's first private working elephant refuge in south India.
