  • Misión

    The Jourdan-Bachman Pioneer Farms is a living history museum that interprets and preserves the histories and cultures of Central Texas during the 19th century. Pioneer Farms envisions that each visitor engages with the multicultural histories of 19th century Central Texas, participates in immersive educational experiences and appreciates the natural landscapes and agrarian lifestyles of the Blackland Prairie.

    EXPERIENCE TEXAS’ COLORFUL PAST

    Six themed historic areas are open for walking tours: an 1841 Tonkawa Encampment, an 1853 Walnut Creek Greenbelt, an 1868 German Emigrant Farm, an 1873 Texian Farm, an 1887 Cotton Planter's Farm and an 1899 Sprinkle Corner rural village. In each area you can step back in time and experience Texas history first-hand. Explore more than 90 beautiful, wooded acres and discover exciting, memorable ways to live Texas' colorful past with your family. Don’t miss the Scarborough Barn where you can get up close with your favorite farm animal friends! Numbers of volunteer interpreters in costume at the historic sites vary from day to day, depending on schedules.
