SAGA’s mission is to help transform high need schools and districts by providing full-time, professional math tutoring in the school day, with three goals to be achieved: a substantial gain in student achievement, especially but not only in math, that will occur because students will generate effort and student efficacy will grow due to the intensive relationship between the full-time tutors and their students; a re-engagement of parents, whom SAGA tutors contact weekly; and a new talent pipeline of skilled tutors who, after their service year, may be hired by the district to become teachers or other essential school staff.
