YouthBuild Newark, Inc.

Founded in 2003, YouthBuild Newark is a nonprofit organization that works to unleash the positive energy of low-income young people to rebuild their communities and their lives. At YouthBuild Newark, unemployed and undereducated young people ages 16-24 work toward their GED while learning job skills by building affordable housing for homeless and low-income people. Strong emphasis is placed on leadership development, community service, and the creation of a positive mini-community of adults and youth. We offer a 10-12 month program and serve approximately 100 youth annually. This means manageable class size, the ability to really know our students, and the expectation that all staff do know and support our students. We offer and require a team approach. YouthBuild Newark is an Affiliate of YouthBuild USA.
