New Mexico Wildlife Center connects people and wildlife for an abundant tomorrow.

    Acerca de

Located in northern New Mexico, New Mexico Wildlife Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing wildlife rehabilitation and wildlife education. Each year we treat up to 800 animals ranging from hummingbirds to young deer and elk. Our release rate back to the wild is about 51%. Our facility includes treatment rooms and a surgery suite with anesthesia, and radiology. The rehab area includes several mews for acclimatizing larger birds and mammals, plus six flight cages ranging from 20 to 100 feet in length. NMWC has 37 education ambassador animals including eagles, bobcats, snakes, owls, hawks, and falcons. Every year over 5,000 children and adults visit the center to see the ambassador animals and hear our message on wildlife conservation and habitat protection through programs and events. Additionally, we offer River Classroom to local schools that immerse students in a year-long program of hands-on science in their own back yards.
