Maryknoll Sisters

The Maryknoll Sisters believe that we are all part of “One Earth Community”. That all of us—regardless of race, nationality, gender, background or personal identity—are all connected as a human family, with each other and with all creation.

We give witness to God’s love and devote our lives in service overseas. As nurses, doctors, teachers, theologians, social workers, environmentalists and more, we serve the needs of the poor, the ailing and the marginalized throughout the world.

The Maryknoll Sisters vision and mission are the basis for all the efforts of Mission Services. The Congregation and the Corporation exist for the same purpose and Mission Services provides all the support necessary at the Sisters Center to facilitate that mission. This vision is ever expanding as our consciousness is stretched by our experiences. It embraces cross-cultural service to the poor and marginalized, an integrated relationship with all of creation, and ever-deepening rootedness in God’s love. We are committed to integrated, ecological approaches to human development.

We value working in collaboration with others in pursuit of healing the earth community and achieving the great work of God: new heavens and a new earth, abundant life for all. Every job done here at our Mission Center is directed toward this effort. Every staff member, whether Sister or lay, whether full time, part-time or volunteer, serves this mission.
