Since 1997, Youth In Action (YIA) has supported the development of thousands of high school youth in some of Rhode Island’s most structurally disfranchised communities. We do this through a unique model that focuses on honoring and strengthening their own identities, defining pathways to their goals, practicing life and leadership skills, and innovating to lead community-change. Our aim is to demonstrate that systemic social change is possible, and that youth are and will be the agents of this change.
