Store to Door of Oregon

  • Acerca de

Store to Door supports independent living for Portland area seniors and people with disabilities by providing a low-cost, volunteer-based grocery shopping and delivery service. We have been recognized by the Governor’s Award for our outstanding volunteer program which is the only one of its kind in Oregon. Over 1,500 volunteers helped to make 11,577 deliveries to 682 clients last year. Store to Door has been delivering nourishment and social connections to homebound people in the community since 1989.

Store to Door is the only grocery service in Portland specifically designed to meet the needs of homebound seniors and people living with disabilities.

    • We phone our clients every week and take their order, if they have one.
    • Deliveries are once a week; we will even help put groceries away!
    • Volunteer delivery drivers spend time visiting with our clients and making sure they have the support they need.
    • Store to Door delivers groceries, prescription medications, postage stamps, bus tickets, toiletries and household items.
    • We help clients utilize SNAP (Supplementary Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits, and can bill delivery fees to Multnomah County for clients with OPI (Oregon Project Independence) homecare entitlements.
    • Upon delivery, clients pay their grocery bill and delivery fee. Delivery fees are just 10% of the total grocery bill (prescriptions are not included in the calculation), with a minimum of $3. We leverage community support to supplement the actual cost of service.
