THE WESTERN NEW YORK PEACE CENTER is a not-for-profit, membership organization with a 52-year history of activism and education on global and local issues of peace and justice. The Peace Center serves the community through informing and organizing, with nine issue-oriented task forces. Current taskforces are Economic Justice, Education & Human Rights, Environmental Justice, Gender Justice, Immigrant & Refugee Justice, Latin America (LASC), Prisoners' Rights, Racial Justice, and Resist Militarism!. We also conduct workshops, including peaceful conflict resolution and nonviolence training. The Peace Center has organized the vast majority of large rallies and marches, as well as holding down numerous weekly vigils, and collaborates frequently with other organizations.
