The National Religious Campaign Against Torture mobilizes people of faith to end torture in U.S. policy, practice and culture.

The National Religious Campaign Against Torture (NRCAT) is a membership organization of over 300 religious organizations committed to ending torture in U.S. policy, practice and culture. Among our more than 75,000 supporters who have worked with us over the years are individuals from the Baha'i, Buddhist, Catholic, evangelical Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, Orthodox Christian, mainline Protestant, Quaker, Sikh, and Unitarian Universalist communities.

NRCAT's education and advocacy work to end U.S.-sponsored torture includes pressing for administrative and legislative action, as well as accountability, for U.S. torture of post-9/11 detainees to prevent similar acts of torture in the future. NRCAT's work to end torture in U.S. prisons, jails and detention centers is focused on ending the use of solitary confinement and working for humane alternatives with the goal of ending mass incarceration. Also, NRCAT works with interfaith and secular partners to end anti-Muslim bigotry in the U.S.
