The Panchita Fund, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit organization created in New York City to help underserved communities in the Dominican Republic by providing supplies for children, families and older adults
The Panchita Fund, Inc. was created in 2025 in Bronx, NY to help underserved communities in the Dominican Republic. I was born in the Dominican Republic and the organization was named after my mother, a Dominican immigrant always willing to help others. Coming from a poor background, my mother instilled a sense of community to me and my siblings and after retiring from a long career in healthcare leadership, I decided to start this non-profit to give back to the people of our country, in underserved areas, who don't have the opportunities I had. We focus primarily in the province of San Pedro de Macoris, where my mother was born, but plan to expand to other communities as we increase our funding. To date, the organization has provided school supplies, toys, clothing for adults and children and needed supplies such as adult diapers for homebound adults. Our current project is to provide baseball equipment to children in these communities, where baseball is a national pastime. The goal of the organization is to raise enough funds through private donations and grants to increase its impact in these poor communities. I am looking for like-minded individuals with skills in social media content creating, fundraising and event planning. As we do not have a brick-and-mortar location, meetings and collaborations will be held online or local public places. I am looking for dedicated, passionate volunteers with roots in the Dominican Republic and experienced in community and non-profit work.
