The Amara Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on reducing barriers for individuals with disabilities through transportation, community resources, education, and long-term support systems.

The organization was founded around a simple realization: many families are not struggling because services do not exist, but because navigating fragmented systems is overwhelming, time consuming, and often inaccessible. Families frequently face barriers involving transportation, provider coordination, education, communication, and long-term planning for their loved ones.

The Amara Foundation is currently focused on the development of several long-term initiatives, including Amara Access Directory, Amara Access Transit, Amara Academy, Amara Living, and Amara Continuum. Each initiative is designed to address a different part of the accessibility and continuity-of-care challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and their families.

As an organization, we value sustainability, operational realism, community collaboration, accountability, accessibility, and long-term systems thinking. We believe meaningful change requires more than good intentions. It requires thoughtful planning, responsible growth, and a commitment to building systems that genuinely improve quality of life for the communities we serve.
