Freunde der Erziehungskunst Rudolf Steiners e.V. (Friends of Waldorf Education)

Freunde der Erziehungskunst Rudolf Steiners e.V.(Friends of Waldorf Education) is an organisation supporting Waldorf education, curative pedagogy (special education), social therapy (for adults with disabilities), biodynamic agriculture, anthroposophic work with elderly persons, and social action throughout the world.

Headquartered in Berlin, Germany, we offer financial and legal support to Waldorf and anthroposophical education initiatives world-wide. To date, we have supported more than 400 initiatives in well over 60 countries. Our office in Karlsruhe, Germany arrranges international voluntary services. One of our voluntary year-of-service programs hosts vounteers from all over the world in Germany.

Since its founding in 1971, Friends of Waldorf Education has helped to promote the development of independent alternatives in education world-wide.

• have contact with some 400 Waldorf schools, kindergartens, curative pedagogy, and other institutions world-wide,

• travel to consultation, colloquia, sponsorships, voluntary services,

• transfer more than 3 Million Euro donations yearly,

• transfer donations at 100%, and finance our own work through member and special donations,

• distribute a newsletter for free twice a year,

• send and recieve about 750 volunteers each year within our year-of-service voluntary service programs.

The Berlin office stays in contact with many institutions world-wide and collects and distributes donations. Our newsletter reports about project developments twice yearly. Advisory meetings, conflict management and conferences on Waldorf pedagogy for volunteers are also organised from Berlin.

Our office in Karlsruhe arranges and supervises voluntary services. These are normally designed for German high school graduates wishing to undertake a year of voluntary work abroad, as well as people of all ages from around the world who wish to volunteer in Germany.

At this moment we are very involved with the refugees coming to Germany and offer a special voluntary service program in this area.
