SIMPLE SUNFLOWER

Inspired by the simple joy of receiving flowers, we are dedicated to bringing happiness and hope into the lives of people enduring or recovering from illness through regifting fresh flowers from local weddings and events to patients in the hospital. We transport the beauty and vitality of nature indoors by delivering flowers directly to patients’ rooms, ensuring each bouquet is personally gifted to an individual. Our aim is to brighten and comfort each patient’s stay while contributing to the sustainability of our community by repurposing florals.

We partner with local venues that host events with fresh flower arrangements - like weddings and receptions. After the event, our team of volunteers gathers donated flowers, arranges them into bouquets, and delivers them to individual patients receiving care in the hospital. Our current hospital partners are VCU Medical Center in Richmond, VA and Riverside Regional Medical center in Newport News, VA.

Through our partnerships with local wedding venues, independent florists, and nearby universities, The Simple Sunflower brings the people of Virginia together. We are always looking for new volunteers and floral donors.

We have delivered over 4,000 bouquets to patients since 2019. Our vision is to expand to cities throughout the nation. Join us on this journey!
